Welcoming videantis: Expanded Membership Accelerates The Embedded Vision Alliance’s Success

Videantis

Back in early March, I passed along the news of CogniMem's just-signed membership in the Embedded Vision Alliance. Later that same month, you learned that Analog Devices had upgraded its membership to the Platinum tier, as Texas Instruments had done in December. And in late April came word of another Alliance member, eyeSight Mobile Technologies.

Well, I'm happy to say that it's happened again. The latest member of the Embedded Vision Alliance is videantis GmbH, founded in 2004 and a spin-off of the Institute of Microelectronic Systems (IMS) and of the Information Technology Laboratory (LFI) at the University of Hannover, Germany. When I asked videantis' CEO and CTO Hans-Joachim Stolberg for a short description of the company and its technologies and products, here's what he and Vice President of Sales & Marketing Young-Hun Kluge provided me:

videantis is a fast growing one-stop video IP and solution provider delivering flexible multi-standard HW/SW video solutions for mobile, consumer, and automotive markets. Based on a proprietary video processor platform that is licensed to chip manufacturers, videantis provides tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of their customers. With its core competencies of deep video application expert know-how and strong SoC design and system architecture expertise, videantis passionately serves a worldwide customer basis with a diverse range of target applications, such as mobile TV, Internet-connected set-top box, or in-car infotainment systems.

With the flexibility of a programmable platform, the scalable videantis multi-core architecture efficiently accelerates a wide and further extensible range of embedded vision applications. Moreover, its ultra-low power consumption and very small silicon footprint make it an enabling technology for advanced vision applications to become truly embedded.

On behalf of the entire membership, I'd like to welcome videantis to the Embedded Vision Alliance! We look forward to meeting you at the next Embedded Vision Alliance Summit in mid-July.

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
