The Embedded Vision Summit is coming up soon. It's September 19, to be exact, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts, in conjunction with DESIGN East. The Summit, organized by the Embedded Vision Alliance, will provide a unique opportunity for engineers to learn about embedded vision, the hottest technology in the electronics industry, enabling “machines that see and understand.”
To begin the registration process for the Embedded Vision Summit, please send an email to [email protected] containing your name, job title, and company or organization name. We will respond with further details via email.
The keynote speaker will be Professor Rosalind Picard of MIT. Professor Picard is founder and director of the Affective Computing Research Group at the MIT Media Laboratory, co-director of the Things That Think Consortium (the largest industrial sponsorship organization at the lab) and leader of the new and growing Autism & Communication Technology Initiative at MIT. She is also co-founder, chief scientist and chairman of Affectiva, Inc., making technology to help measure and communicate emotion.
A Great Event for System, Software and Chip Design Engineers
The Summit will provide a technical educational forum for engineers, including how-to presentations, seminars, demonstrations, and opportunities to interact with Alliance member companies. This event is intended to:
- Inspire engineers' imaginations about the potential applications for embedded vision technology through exciting presentations and demonstrations
- Offer practical know-how for engineers to help them incorporate vision capabilities into their products, and
- Provide opportunities for engineers to meet and talk with leading embedded vision technology companies and learn about their offerings.
In addition to the above-mentioned keynote, the day's planned activities include the following highlights:
- An introductory presentation on embedded vision technology and applications
-
Multiple presentations from Alliance member companies on
- Embedded vision algorithms and applications
- Selecting and using processors for embedded vision
- Tools and design techniques for embedded vision
- A presentation on image sensor options for embedded vision, and
- Numerous embedded vision application demonstrations
Attendance at the Summit is free of charge to all qualified attendees, including engineers developing systems, SoCs and application software, as well as invited press and analysts and Alliance Member company representatives. Others (such as students) will be admitted on a space-available basis. Space is limited; advanced registration is required and early registration is recommended.
