Coming Up Next Week In The UK: The Image Sensors 2013 Show

Apologies for the short notice on this one, folks, I only recently found out about it…

The image sensor is, perhaps obviously, a key piece of any embedded vision system design. This is why, for example, my first technical article published on the Alliance website discussed them. It's also why engineers at BDTI have to date delivered two technical presentations on them at Alliance Member Summits:

Next week, March 19 through 21 to be exact, the Europe-based Image Sensors conference plans to discuss the topic in depth, focusing (pun intended) in particular on plenoptic sensors as well as various 3-D (i.e. depth-discerning) sensor technologies. The conference will be held at the Park Plaza Victoria, London, UK, and below you'll find some choice excerpts from the most recently published press release on the event. For more information, including registration details, please visit www.image-sensors.com.

The event has scheduled 14 new expert speakers, covering a variety of the latest issues and innovative image sensor topics. 3D/time-of-flight imaging is the focus of day 1. Other areas covered at IS2013 are plenoptic and array cameras, and performance improvements. Speakers include:

  • Ziv Attar, CEO and co-founder, LINX Imaging
  • Kartik Venkataraman, founder and CTO, Pelican Imaging
  • Junichi Nakamura, Director, Japan Design Centre, Aptina
  • Gerhard Holst, Chief Scientist, PCO

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
