LETTER FROM THE EDITOR |
Dear Colleague, I'm pleased to be able to kick off this edition of Embedded Vision Insights with the news that online registration for the next Embedded Vision Summit West, which will take place May 29 in Santa Clara, California, is now live on the Alliance website. Embedded Vision Summits are technical educational forums for engineers interested in incorporating visual intelligence into electronic systems and software. An "Early Bird" reduced registration fee of $149 for the Embedded Vision Summit West is only available through February 28, so don't delay in registering. This year’s Summit is co-located with the Augmented World Expo (AWE), and Embedded Vision Summit attendees may also obtain an AWE Exhibits-Only Pass for only $20, an 80% discount. Just add the AWE Exhibits-Only Pass to your online registration submission for the Embedded Vision Summit. Speaking of Embedded Vision Summits, the last few videos from last October's East Coast event have now been added to the Alliance website. Take a look at the entire Summit East content suite for a sense of the breadth and depth of information you'll obtain at the upcoming May Summit West; a detailed program for the event will be published shortly. And while you're up on the Alliance website, also make sure you check out the just-published additional presentations from the December 2013 Alliance Member Meeting: from Professor Li Zhang of the University of Wisconsin (on computational photography), from Professor Sanjay Patel of the University of Illinois (on computational imaging), and from Neil Trevett, President of Khronos and Vice President at NVIDIA (on the OpenVX vision processing API). Thanks as always for your support of the Embedded Vision Alliance, and for your interest in and contributions to embedded vision technologies, products and applications. I welcome your emailed suggestions on what the Alliance can do better, as well as what else the Alliance can do, to better service your needs. Brian Dipert |
