SoftKinetic

Company’s Advanced 3D Vision and Gesture Recognition Portfolio is the Backbone of Many Cutting Edge Technologies Shown at CES

LAS VEGAS, Consumer Electronics Show, Booth #25634, January 7, 2014 – SoftKinetic®, the world’s leading provider of 3D vision and gesture recognition solutions, today announced its 3D gesture IP licensing portfolio has been selected for the most exciting 3D technologies at the show, from gaming to 3D scanning, to in-car infotainment and the latest in wearable computing. SoftKinetic is demonstrating many of the innovative technologies it helped to create with its Tier One partners at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 7-10, 2014 in booth #25634.

“3D vision and gesture based interaction are some of the fastest growing segments of technology, used in everything from video games, to 3D scanning and even automobile driving,” said Michel Tombroff, CEO of SoftKinetic. “At SoftKinetic, we have created a robust IP and technology portfolio that allows the industry to design the hottest products of tomorrow using straightforward technologies with the most cutting-edge capabilities.”

SoftKinetic’s award-winning 3D vision computing middleware iisu®, and its line of 3D DepthSense cameras and sensors, provide a software and hardware combination that creates smarter devices for a natural, intuitive user experience. Created after more than ten years of research and development, SoftKinetic’s IP platform is the most sophisticated 3D technology available today.

Quickly becoming the industry standard, SoftKinetic is featured in products such as the Intel Perceptual Computing Software Development Kit (SDK), Texas Instruments Time-of-Flight Sensors, NVIDIA Tegra 4 platform, Delphi In-Vehicle Infotainment solution and the Sony PlayStation 4.

SoftKinetic has also created strategic partnerships with leading 3D technology companies, who are using SoftKinetic cameras and the company’s iisu middleware to design innovative solutions such as wearable computing, 3D printing and scanning and augmented reality solutions for the home.

Recent partnerships include Personify, Volumental, Ayotle and KeyLemon. Personify is using SoftKinetic’s DepthSense 325 camera to help bridge the gap in remote communication through seamlessly combining the user with content displayed as background, for a more natural video conference experience.

“We found that the SoftKinetic DepthSense camera was a seamless fit with our unique B2B video collaboration technology, allowing users to become part of their presentation and interact with their virtual content during remote communication,” said Sanjay Patel, CEO at Personify. “Our goal at Personify has always been to elevate the entire video conferencing experience, and SoftKinetic was well known in the industry for its superior 3D vision technologies, allowing us to provide truly immersive communication between our users.”

SoftKinetic is working with Volumental to provide the world’s first cloud-based 3D scanner, and with Ayotle to transform any object – no matter its size or surface – into a tactile, interactive surface. In addition, SoftKinetic and KeyLemon have collaborated on an advanced authentication solution based on 3D facial identification for PC and Enterprise. Each of these products will be available to consumers in 2014.
