SAN JOSE, Calif., May 21, 2014—Cadence Design Systems, Inc., a leader in global electronic design innovation, today announced that Cadence® Fellow and founder of Tensilica, Chris Rowen, is scheduled to present at Embedded Vision Summit West 2014 on May 29 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
WHAT:
During his presentation entitled, “Taming the Beast: Performance and Energy Optimization Across Embedded Feature Detection and Tracking,” Dr. Rowen plans to discuss a cross-section of advanced feature detectors, including the algorithm, bit precision, arithmetic primitives and implementation optimizations that yield high-pixel processing rates, high-result quality and low energy. He will also examine how these optimization methods apply to kernels used in tracking applications, including fast connected-component labeling. From this, he will derive general principles on the priority and likely impact of different optimization types.
Cadence is scheduled to participate in the product showcase from 12:00pm to 1:00pm and present at the reception and exhibits from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to chat with technology experts and see demos of the latest Cadence IVP image/video DSP products.
