Tokyo, Japan – December 10th, 2021– Morpho, Inc. (hereinafter, “Morpho”), a global leader in image processing solutions and imaging AI solutions, announced today its collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a leading semiconductor company, to implement Morpho’s AI and image processing technologies in upcoming Snapdragon® compute platforms.
Due to the surge in online meetings driven by the pandemic, global PC manufacturers are demanding advanced camera functionalities to enable improved video conferencing experiences for end users. This collaboration between Morpho and Qualcomm Technologies will help deliver richer imaging software that is optimized for Snapdragon Compute Platforms.
Morpho software incorporated into Snapdragon Compute Platforms will bring wide dynamic range (adaptive local tone-mapping), auto-framing (adjustment of subjects within the frame), AI-based background bokeh/replacement, and gaze correction to the front facing camera of user’s PCs – enhancing video conferencing experiences. For Snapdragon Mobile Platforms, Morpho will continue to optimize “Morpho Semantic Filtering™”, which uses AI segmentation and pixel processing to apply various filtering effects to each categorized semantic segment of objects being captured.
Miguel Nunes, Vice President of Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. said, “Qualcomm Technologies is excited to broaden our relationship with Morpho in the mobile device segment to now include our growing Snapdragon Compute ecosystem. New imaging functionality offered by Morpho for video conferencing will help improve user experiences.”
