Ettlingen, February 28, 2024 – At LogiMAT trade fair (Messe Stuttgart, March 19 – 21, 2024), Vision Components will present the world’s first industrial-grade MIPI camera module with the new IMX900 image sensor from Sony. The VC MIPI IMX900 global shutter camera offers 3.2 megapixel resolution and high light sensitivity up to the infrared range. The ultra-compact camera module features longterm availability, is immediately purchasable and is ideally suited for intralogistics applications. VC will also showcase a new version of its FPGA accelerator VC Power SoM, that simplifies the integration of image processing. It enables 3D image capture at up to 120 Hertz.

MIPI camera for robotics, barcode scanners and quality control
The VC MIPI IMX900 camera module is suitable for numerous applications in intralogistics and other industrial areas. With a sensor diagonal of just 5.8 mm, the ultra-compact module can be integrated easily and flexibly. It delivers high image quality even in low light. This is achieved by the large imaging range and light sensitivity up to near-infrared (NIR). These properties facilitate the detection of barcodes and other markers as well as quality assurance, where infrared light helps to detect details that remain unseen under visible light.
FPGA accelerator for fast and simple image processing
Another highlight for embedded vision in intralogistics is the FPGA accelerator board VC Power SoM. The tiny component, measuring just 24 mm x 28 mm, can be easily integrated into the design of an electronic system and handles the complex pre-processing of image data. The latest version of the VC Power SoM now also enables fully automatic barcode reading and 3D stereo image capturing at up to 120 hertz.
Cameras and accessories made in Germany
Vision Components will be demonstrating the perfect interaction of MIPI cameras with processor boards, the VC Power SoM and other components and software relating to the MIPI-CSI-2 interface. The camera modules are developed and manufactured by Vision Components in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe / Germany and are characterized by their robust, industry-optimized design and quality. Comprehensive project consulting and the development of customer-specific adaptations are also part of the services offered by the embedded vision expert with over 30 years of experience.
