Amol Borkar, Director of Product Marketing for Cadence Tensilica DSPs and Automotive Segment Director, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products at the 2024 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Borkar demonstrates the use of a Tensilica ConnX B10 DSP for automotive imaging radar applications.
The ConnX B10 DSP is a highly efficient, configurable and extensible processor targeted at edge radar and automotive radar applications. In this demonstration, the B10 DSP is doing multi-object detection and tracking (MOT) of 20 discrete objects from radar data. These objects have intersecting paths and yet are tracked properly. The ConnX B10 DSP is used to perform various algorithms like the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), K-means clustering, tracking and additional functions needed for MOT. Additionally, the ConnX B10 DSP is fully capable of handling high performance workloads needed for 4D radars, large FFTs and datacube processing.
This demonstration is done in collaboration with Multicoreware (www.multicorewareinc.com/), a leading provider for software solutions and services, as well as Calterah Semiconductor (www.calterah.com/), who provided the prototype board and SoC featuring the ConnX B10 DSP.
