MIPI camera with Sony IMX900

With the VC MIPI IMX900, VC is presenting an industrial-grade camera module that integrates the new IMX900 image sensor from Sony. The global shutter camera offers 3.2 megapixel resolution and high light sensitivity extending into the infrared range. With a sensor diagonal of just 5.8 mm, the ultra-compact module can be integrated easily and flexibly. On request, VC can also supply a GMSL version of the VC MIPI IMX900 camera module, for connection with coaxial cables up to 10 meters long. This option is now available for all VC MIPI Cameras.

New website for the VC MIPI Ecosystem

Around the VC MIPI Cameras, Vision Components has developed an extensive ecosystem of components and resources. To gather and present all this in one place, VC has published the new website www.mipi-modules.com. It provides all information on embedded vision systems based on the MIPI CSI-2 interface. In addition to the largest portfolio of cameras and image sensors, customers will find cables and accessories, information on compatible processor platforms, customization options for individual projects and everything around the production of the VC MIPI Cameras “Made in Germany”.

Ultra-compact OEM laser sensor

For the first time, VC is presenting its new OEM module at Vision, that combines the proven technology of the VC nano 3D-Z sensor for laser triangulation with the world’s smallest embedded vision system, VC picoSmart. A new arrangement of the mirror elements for the camera and laser enables the smallest possible design of only around 73 x 40 x 55 mm. The module with onboard data processing serves as a basis for the rapid development of individual sensors for OEMs and suppliers, for example for applications such as adhesive bead and weld seam inspection directly on the tool head.

30+ years of embedded vision

All VC products are developed and manufactured in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe / Germany, with the highest quality and tailored to the requirements of industrial projects. On request, the company also develops cameras and vision systems with individual image sensors, customer-specific PCB format or sensor positions. Completely assembled and calibrated cameras including optics can also be supplied on request.
