Čakovec, Croatia – December 17th, 2024 – After the new FRAMOS campus was built in a short period of time, the grand opening took place last Friday in Čakovec, Croatia. High-ranking government representatives, including the Croatian Minister of the Economy, Ante Šušnjar, Matija Posavec, Međimurje County Prefect, and Ljerka Cividini, Mayor of Čakovec, attended the ceremony alongside Andreas Franz, CEO of FRAMOS as well as Damir Dolar and Markus Walluschnig, executive directors of FRAMOS Technologies d.o.o.
The new campus combines economic and technological aspects with social and ecological ones, enabling FRAMOS to achieve more efficient logistics and production, improved collaboration, and greater technological innovation thanks to the close interaction between engineering, production, and customers.
The excellent atmosphere was tangible for the participants, and Andreas Franz addressed them with motivating words: “We are building the future of embedded vision. To achieve this, we’ve created a home for research, development, and production right here in Čakovec — serving clients worldwide from the heart of Europe. When we were planning this campus, we had the vision that we, on the one hand, bring FRAMOS on a completely different level – as you can see, this worked out well – and, on the other hand, do this in a sustainable way. This task was not easy since we had to balance out our requirements: The requirements of our colleagues, partners, and customers. However, as you can see, we build a campus that produces more energy than it can consume, uses sustainable materials, and offers the best possible conditions for us working in the building. Why have we done that? We believe that we can only grow as a company if we closely watch how we grow and what impact we have on our children and future generations. This is why we build this campus the way it is built, and this is what we offer to our customers. A sustainable way to develop and grow their businesses with our products in an efficient and inspirational way. I can only say thank you to all Framosians and partners who contributed to this incredible project.”
The auditors who accompanied FRAMOS in realizing the campus according to the high DGNB standards, Doris Wirth from Bluesave and Snježana Turalija from GREENiKA, said: “The FRAMOS project is one of the more positive examples of building certification in Croatia according to international sustainability standards. From the earliest stages of the project planning, the management organized lectures on the DGNB certification system and decarbonization for the main stakeholders of the project; after an insight into the possibilities and the requirements that the DGNB B certification system for all stakeholders, the management decided to pursue pre-certification and subsequent certification according to DGNB qualities – ecological, economic, socio-cultural, technical, process-related and site-related. The project was reviewed by auditors from all relevant parties defined in the DGNB system in order to fulfill as many criteria as possible and achieve the best possible score, i.e. the level of the final certificate. The commitment of the key people at FRAMOS and the main design office, with colleagues who took the requirements of the international certificate very seriously and worked on key topics that are important for achieving the best possible end result, is certainly commendable.”
Damir Dolar, Director of Embedded Engineering at FRAMOS said: “Today is a special day as we open the doors to a space that is not just a physical environment, but a symbol of our commitment to innovation, progress, and the future of technology in the field of embedded vision solutions. This campus is not only a new workspace but also a place where ideas will be created that will shape the technological world we live in.“
The Croatian Minister of Economy, Ante Šušnjar, congratulated and said the following words:
“This Campus and the people leading it are a perfect example and an additional incentive for the Government of the Republic of Croatia to continue providing strong support to the Croatian economy and business community by creating a more favorable business environment, investing in education and skills development, and promoting research and development. Our goal is to ensure Croatia’s competitiveness as a country capable of competing on global markets through innovation, adaptability, and quality. To this end, the Government is implementing key reforms, including amendments to the Investment Incentives Act, which have increased support for strategic projects, streamlined business operations, and facilitated the creation of new jobs. Congratulations to FRAMOS, its employees, and especially Executive Director Dr. Andreas Franz and Director Damir Dolar, on this great achievement. The way the construction of the FRAMOS Campus contributes to strengthening Croatia’s economic competitiveness, industrial policy, and the promotion of innovation and new technologies is a true testament to vision and dedication.”
With the opening of the FRAMOS Campus, we are enhancing our capabilities in research, development, and production while reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and innovation. This milestone marks a key step in supporting our customers’ needs and strengthening our position in the global market.
We look forward to the continued growth of our business, creating new opportunities for collaboration, and contributing to the future of embedded vision.
