April 30, 2019 – Vision Components is now shipping additional new MIPI camera modules. These high-end boards meet industrial standards and are available in large quantities at consumer prices. OEMs can choose from various global shutter and rolling shutter sensors and implement their imaging tasks with powerful CPU boards to take advantage of rapid developments in the consumer market. VC MIPI cameras are compatible with more than 20 CPU boards from various manufacturers such as Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA.
The hi-tech components are designed for easy integration and maintenance-free operation. They are 100 % developed and manufactured in Germany. Vision Components is the technology leader in this market segment, while few other suppliers are ready to deliver at this point and even prototypes are mostly only available for individual models. In contrast, Vision Components' MIPI cameras and the dedicated drivers are tested and proven for industrial use. Developing this product line, the German company was able to draw on more than two decades of experience in the field of embedded vision. The boards feature a 22-pin MIPI CSI-2 interface with a trigger input and flash trigger output on their reverse side. Vision Components will continue to expand this series: more Sony IMX sensors with up to 13 megapixels have already been announced for 2019. The portfolio is complemented by accessories such as lens holders, adapter boards, repeaters, filter discs, and much more.
