Last May, Lina Karam of Arizona State University presented at an Embedded Vision Alliance Member Meeting on the upcoming IEEE ICIP (International Conference on Image Processing), which takes place September 25-28 in Phoenix, Arizona. Karam is an IEEE Fellow and the Director of Arizona State University's Image, Video & Usability (IVU) Lab. A video of her Alliance Member Meeting presentation is shown above.
This year's ICIP will for the first time showcase the Visual Innovation Award, for which nominations are due on March 31. From the relevant event page:
The Visual Innovation Award was created to recognize pioneers of transformative technologies and business models in areas within the technical scope of the IEEE ICIP conference series. The Award showcases innovations that have had great impact on human experiences or are anticipated to do so in the near future. To reflect widespread appreciation by the community, the winner is selected through voting by registered attendees of the conference, from among finalists selected by an award committee [editor note: which includes Embedded Vision Alliance founder Jeff Bier].
For more information on the Visual Innovation Award, including an online nomination submission form, please visit the award page on the event site. A PDF flyer for the Visual Innovation Award is also available.
