The recently discussed Business Insights Track isn't the only new track at this year's Embedded Vision Summit. Also make sure to check out the Enabling Technologies Track, where you'll learn about the latest computer vision processors, tools, and other technologies that you can use to develop practical, innovative products now.

The Enabling Technologies Track is bookended by two invited-presenter events. Mid-morning on Tuesday, May 3, Pete Warden, a Research Engineer at Google, will deliver the talk "TensorFlow: Enabling Mobile and Embedded Machine Intelligence," which begins with an overview of the advances in deep learning and AI over the last few years, followed by a discussion of how his company uses its open-source TensorFlow software library to deploy those advances on mobile and embedded devices, and in products such as Google Translate, Google Photos, and OK Google.

On Wednesday, May 4, the Khronos Group, which maintains a variety of well-known industry standards, will deliver a daylong workshop, "Accelerate Your Vision Applications with OpenVX." The workshop begins with an overview of the vision acceleration API landscape; attendees will then receive an in-depth tutorial on the architecture of OpenVX and how to apply it to their applications. And following the lectures is a hands-on lab where attendees are invited to bring their own laptops to try out real-world examples of OpenVX acceleration.

In-between the Tuesday morning talk by Google and Wednesday's workshop from Khronos are a variety of product presentations from Alliance member companies Altera, CEVA, FotoNation, Imagination Technologies, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and Synopsys, all ideal for product developers, engineers, and business leaders embracing the new world of visual intelligence. Emerging Technologies demonstrations will also take place throughout the day Tuesday in the Showcase Theater at the Vision Technology Showcase, which provides you the opportunity to see the latest products up close and interact with the people developing these advances.

The Embedded Vision Summit, an educational forum for product creators interested in incorporating visual intelligence into electronic systems and software, takes place in Santa Clara, California May 2-4, 2016. Check out the full set of Enabling Technologies Track events on the Alliance website. And then register without further delay, as space is limited and seats are filling up!

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
