Jason Enslin, Product Manager for NVIDIA Jetson and Cameras at NVIDIA partner D3 Engineering, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products at the 2021 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Enslin demonstrates a synchronized 2D and 3D time-of-flight multi-camera application on NVIDIA’s Jetson AGX Xavier.
With the growing need for video, distance measurement and mapping 3D spaces in industrial, robotics and inspection, synchronized 2D and 3D time-of-flight (ToF) with multiple cameras becomes increasingly important. In this demonstration, D3 Engineering runs a multi-camera application using DesignCore 2D RGB and 3D ToF cameras on a NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier Developer Kit using D3’s multi-channel gigabit multimedia serial link (GMSL2) interface card. The demo leverages a hardware-based synchronization scheme to offset the exposures between the 2D and 3D cameras.
