James Wang, Technical General Manager at eYs3D Microelectronics, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products at the 2021 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Wang demonstrates stereo vision for robotic automation and depth sensor fusion.
Depth-sensing technology is now being widely adopted commercially in various consumer and industrial products. It’s commonly recognized that there is no perfect 3D sensing technology to fit all diverse application domains. eYs3D incorporates advanced computer vision algorithms, hybrid depth-sensing fusion, point-cloud compression and streaming, along with dynamic calibration, all of which is delivered by the most power-efficient and scalable form of hardware: silicon.
Robots are entering our life at a rapid rate. These machines thrive on computer vision to provide near-human perception capability and interact with people, all in order to complete tasks autonomously. In this demo, Wang shows how his company’s silicon-centric technology can be applied to various robotic applications, such as the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) and Co-bot.
