NAMUGA Strengthens Vision Solution Partnerships, Expands AI Sensor Collaborations

Targeting Autonomous Robotics, Mobility, and VR/AR Markets

September 11, 2024 – NAMUGA Co., Ltd. (190510:KOSDAQ) has announced new strategic partnerships with leading AI image sensor companies in North America and Europe to advance its vision module development for emerging VR/AR devices, autonomous robotics, and mobility markets.

Breakthrough in LiDAR Technology for Mobility and Robotics

The company has entered a joint development agreement with U.S.-based Lumotive, a specialist in LiDAR technology for autonomous driving. NAMUGA will leverage Lumotive’s cutting-edge digital beam steering technology to produce sensor modules with enhanced detection range and accuracy. These modules, manufactured in large volumes, will target global mobility and robotics companies.

Advanced Image Sensors for Security and Medical Sectors

NAMUGA is also collaborating with Belgium-based Spectricity to co-develop ultra-fine hue recognition image sensors for the security and medical sectors. Spectricity will focus on chip development, while NAMUGA will handle mass production, aiming to meet the growing demand for next-gen biometric and medical devices.

Strengthening 3D ToF Sensor Capabilities for VR/AR

Additionally, NAMUGA has signed an exclusive partnership with VoxelSensors, a San Jose-based company specializing in 3D image and pupil-tracking sensors. This collaboration will expand NAMUGA’s supply of 3D ToF sensor modules to global VR/AR device manufacturers.

To boost its presence in the robotics sector, NAMUGA has joined the Edge AI & Vision Alliance and Boston’s MassRobotics, enabling collaboration with other industry leaders in AI and vision technologies.

Focusing on four key markets—AR/VR wearables, autonomous mobility, security systems, and Bio-Medical devices—NAMUGA aims to generate 100 billion KRW in sales from these areas by 2027, as part of its broader goal of reaching 600 billion KRW.
