Innovation in Diverse, Fast Moving and High-Profile Sectors for ON Semiconductor at Embedded World

ONSPR2948_NB3H73113G_LRES

Enabling technologies and unique tools to speed and simplify design and development in the IoT, portable device power delivery and automotive imaging markets

Embedded World 2017 – Hall 4A, Stand 110 – NUREMBERG, Germany – March 13, 2017 – ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ON), driving energy efficient innovations, will focus on technologies for three of the highest-profile and fastest moving sectors of the electronics industry at this year’s Embedded World exhibition with demonstrations around solutions and tools for the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless and USB Type-C power delivery / charging, as well as automotive image sensing.

In the IoT space, Embedded World will see the first showing of the recently launched RSL10 Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) ultra-low power, multi-protocol 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) radio System on Chip (SoC). This device is specifically targeted at the important and rapidly growing high-performance wearable and medical applications markets. Additionally, ON Semiconductor will demonstrate its ability to simplify and speed IoT design with the IoT Development Kit. Providing a rapid prototyping platform for engineers, the kit is fully configurable with industry standard interfaces and includes extensive software support. Finally in this area, a new home and office motion detection application developed with SIGFOX will be on display.

Wired and wireless charging are important to both designers and users of portable equipment seeking rapid and convenient charging of their devices. ON Semiconductor will be exhibiting its high efficiency AirFuel™ Resonant-based wireless charging solutions for applications ranging from 2 watts (W) through to 50 W. Alongside these will be USB Type-C wired power delivery solutions for power bank, wall plug, travel adaptor and car charger designs.

In the very different, yet equally current, high focus area of automotive image sensing in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), ON Semiconductor will feature its Modular Automotive Reference System (MARS). This first-of-its-kind platform gives system and software developers a ready-to-use camera for research and development purposes. MARS effectively provides a complete ecosystem in a compact form-factor to support accelerated time-to-market and significant reductions in allocated engineering resources for automotive image sensing designs.

In addition, the company will showcase the newest member of its innovative programmable OmniClock family. The flexible, highly featured NB3H73113G programmable clock generator supports up to three single-ended clock signals, or one single-ended and one differential clock signal. This allows the replacement of up to three crystals or oscillators in a wide range of end equipment, including space sensitive applications such as wireless headphones, car radios, and amplifiers. The device comes blank or programmed with one user-defined configuration; users can then change this configuration by writing to the device registers via the I2C / SMBus interface.

Availability

The NB3H73113G is offered in a QFN-16 package and is available today along with the NB3X6X1XXG16QFNEVK evaluation board, which is recommended for designers who want to evaluate the device in detail.
