Intel Demonstration of In-vehicle Infotainment Applications

John Goldie, Strategic Applications Engineer in the Programmable Solutions Group with the Automotive Business Unit at Intel, demonstrates the company's latest embedded vision technologies and products at the January 2017 Consumer Electronics Show. Specifically, Goldie demonstrates video expansion in a head unit for evolving cockpit applications requiring an increasing number of cameras to support new features such as gesture recognition, and driver and passenger monitoring. 1 Mpixel cameras are connected to the Cyclone FPGA via APIX2 Ser/Des links. The Cyclone FPGA can then send the video to the main CPU or back out to local displays. The demo is a collaborative effort with Pelagicore/Luxoft for the HMI, Inova Semiconductors for the APIX2 HSMC card, and Intel.

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
