Imaging Veteran Joins FRAMOS as Vice President of Sensor Engineering

May 24, 2018 – Chris Barrett, an industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience in engineering, R&D, operations and product development has joined FRAMOS as its Vice President of Sensor Engineering. FRAMOS is the leading technology provider in embedded vision, industrial, scientific and medical image processing with a comprehensive portfolio of imaging components and services from sensor to system.

Leading the global FRAMOS Sensor and Module engineering group, Barrett comes with a wealth of experience working inimaging companies, driving innovation and new technologies. With Barrett’s addition to the FRAMOS team, the company has gained a leader with extensive experience in engineering management, R&D and operations. He has been awarded five patents.

Over the last years, Barrett has played important roles in the imaging and broadcast industries. While Co-CEO of International Datacasting (IDC) he managed all operations and Engineering including projects developing low latency HD video solutions and developing a 4K decoder which was used to show FIFA world cup in 2014. Prior to IDC Barrett held the roles of Vice President of Engineering at both Lumenera Corporation and Pleora Technologies. As VP of Engineering, Barrett has previously led all R&D and operations activities driving rapid increase in new product introductions and supervised changes in operations and supply chain management. Barrett has also held engineering management roles from start-up companies to large enterprises such as Nortel, Alcatel and CIENA. Barrett joins FRAMOS with rich knowledge taking a new product from conception to trial-readiness leading high-performance engineering teams.
